My life is hectic (okay, so not so much right now...because you know, it's summer...mostly it's boring and shitty and involves excessive sleeping, which by the way somehow manages to make me more tired...yeah, I would love someone to answer that phenomenon for me). BUT, even though all my energies are concentrated in my present slovenly state, I still manage to find a way to make myself busy enough that I don't have time to do things that I actually need to do. For example, clean my room (I have a cup of ramen that has evolved so much mold I'm pretty sure it's sentient now...), practice my Swedish, file my AAA claim, call SallyMae...you know, important things that I REALLY should be on top of. But I'm not. Because ladies and gents, this is laziness at it's finest. Stashing everything in layaway until Christmas because I'm too damned busy being lazy. As a general rule of thumb, people seem to revere those who throw themselves into a million different things at once; those golden children, the goal-oriented over-achievers who will save the whales, find a cure to cancer, start up a wildly innovative and successful business and run for a political office before the age of 25.

I bet they never counted on us tricky bastards to throw a monkey wrench in their idealized image. You see, I can cheat the system- people will think I am progressive and intelligent and rapidly moving up in the world so long as a stay busy, doing things that allow my to piss time away and actually do nothing. Knitting club, squirrel-watching club (fucking psychos), alternative investments club, student government, random acts of kindness club, American Geriatric Society-student chapter....Just fake it 'till I make it. This is my greatest and most diabolical plan to date. A flawless, foolproof plan to become successful and filthy rich...without even trying.
